Karen L McCarty
Botanical Artisan
Welcome to my world of botanical sculpture, where
nature’s elegance is captured in delicate detail. Since 2006,
I’ve been bringing the beauty of flora to life through paper,
clay, and cold porcelain, creating timeless pieces that
celebrate the intricate artistry of the natural world. Each
sculpture reflects my passion for blending realism with
creativity, transforming everyday blooms into lasting works
of art. My work is proudly featured in local galleries across
South Carolina, and I invite you to explore my collection
and discover how nature and craftsmanship intertwine in
every piece.
Life experience has shown me that whenever one door closes,
God will open another … each season of life creates new, exciting opportunities. I was devastated when the physical effects of RA caused me to give up my career. Then I opened my eyes to discover the wonderful, beautiful world of art. Today I am a well contented Boomer with a different purpose. I create realistic botanical recreations & figurative sculptures of human types that appeal to me and nature’s plants, flowers & animals. My work is displayed in local galleries. I pass the benefits along to others with my art classes and by donating a portion of my sales to women who have suffered abuse. My sculpted flowers are a reminder that beauty is all around us … as long as our eyes are open to it.

Learn Paper Sculpture
My Client had a Special Request
to make a sizable number to offer as gifts. I thought, that
sounded like fun. We worked together to accomplish
this goal and at the end we had boxes of
beautiful creations.
Thank you, Javin .... you are a great
student.
After all that work, you also agreed to pose for
a photo for my website! And look at the trio of
Hellebores!
to learn to create several types of flowers
& then ...
